| Hello all! I realize that I haven't been on in like forever... so now I have a lot to update on. First of all I'm engaged!! It happened last weekend.. (so dun be mad b/c I haven't said anything). I've been suspecting for a while already. We've been going ring shopping but David's been throwing me off track telling me that he can't afford one and all since we just got the house less than a yr ago. (Gave me a big guilt trip and everything.) But we still went ring shopping cuz it was fun...I saw a really nice one I really liked a couple of months ago but then when I went back it was gone.. someone had bought it.. and since then I kept comparing every ring I saw with that one. So I finished my rotation a day early and we headed up to SF. He woke up at like 4 am and so we headed off at 4:30 am . We weren't suppose to leave till like 5... it was a fast trip.. took us a little less than 6 hrs. Once we were near the city we saw it was cloudy. David was all pissed off ..cursing at the clouds.. I mean what do you expect? Aug in SF.. We were there by 11 or so and we went to our fav Indian place. By then the clouds cleared up. Afterwards he really wanted to go to this scenic point that we found when we were up there. Even though it was sunny he wanted to wear his big jacket.. ( hint.. hint). Then we got up there and the view was gorgeous, we could see all the way to downtown. There were random people walking around but soon it cleared up and David wanted to move to the edge of the hill and started on a little speech. Other people came then and a dog interrupted us so we kept moving around. Then just when I was started to think that we've been up there for a while he got down on one knee and proposed. When I think back on it I realize now that he asked me b4 he pulled out the ring! But anyhow what was I gonna do? Not accept??.. Anyhow when he did pull out the ring I found out it was the ring I originally wanted months ago!! I found out he was the one that bought it and hid it from me for months. So we went from store to store with me thinking I could never replace the one that I wanted and with him secretly laughing at me. Haha I guess he did a pretty good job at tricking me. Well the weekend went by pretty fast after that. Met up with my SF friends and ate a lot of good food. Then headed back down to LA and went to Mexico for 5 days. We had an all inclusive meal package so we ate and drank a lot. We also went jet skiing and spent a long time at the beach and pool. Vacation was nice.. wish I could have it more often. But now back to reality: I have an easier rotation this time so I should be able to finally have some fun. I have a couple of weddings to go to this month so it should be good. On another note I found out that a high school classmate of mine (Man ling) murdered her husband and child. I was pretty shocked. They say she might be put up for the death penalty. I mean a part of me still thinks that this sort of thing doesn¡¦t happen to people I know. But I guess that¡¦s the trade off. For really happy moments in the adult world scary stuff needs to happen too. Anyhow I¡¦ll be updating more now since I have more time. Also I joined facebook (so people can stop nagging me about it now) And for those of you who are wondering we will prob have our wedding in march of 2010. By then I'll be done with residency and it can also match up with our 10 yr anniversary. | | |
| After 3 long years in SF finally I'm back in LA!! Happy and sad in many ways. Happy that I get to move into our new house.... Sad b/c I had to say goodbye to all my friends up there... All in all glad to be back and to start a new chapter in our lives.. My rotation starts next Monday at Cedar General Medicine or " hospital of the stars". After 6 weeks of that I get to travel to Anahiem for Infectious disease and then UCLA for Liver transplant... ( Yea I think I mite not survive Liver transplant.. heard the hours are like 6am-midnight!) Anyhow, David and I are still doin well. ( And no we are not married yet..) but we did get a house together in Rosemead. So come visit! Well after I get all my stuff cleaned up... I gathered a lot of stuff over 3 years. I know there's a lot of people I sorta lost contact with since I've been up in SF.... sorry!! Was really busy with school.. last quarter especially ( hopefully I passed and they won't call me to go back up there..) But yea.. I'm slowly going down my list of people I need to call and meet up with. If anyone is free this week let me know! | | |
| Wow it's been exactly a year since I wrote.. time sure does go by fast... I finished another year at pharm school. Now I only have two more quarters and I get to go back down south. =) I'm so glad that it's almost over.. but at the same time I'm going to miss the friends that I've made up here.
Highlights of the past year: learned about all the recreational drugs that I and my friends have ever taken... fun stuff. (Now I know 3 different ways to make Meth...) I'm still working at Kaiser Oakland, but Inpatient pharmacy now. It's a lot more chill and I get to learn more too. Oh I've also been on a new workout plan for 6 months now!!! I go every other day and I even got some friends into it too! I'm also enjoying SF a lot more now. I've been eatting at a lot of different places, went to Asia SF ( The "entertainers" there def have bodies to be jealous about). Also went to a couple of shows: Le Mes, Cats, O, and I'm going to see Rent in Aug. Sadly, I decided that I'm not that much into boardway shows...But I have discovered that I am very much into cruises. Went on one during spring break to Mexico, and another one is planned for Sept to the Western Caribbean.
I'm really looking forward to summer!! I finally get to go home and enjoy the sun! I'm going to join the preimer plan at the gym and then I can do all the classes for free! Anyhow I guess that's it from me. If I haven't talked to you in a while (I'm sorry!) send me a message and let me know how your doin. =)
| Hello Xanga World! I feel like I went to war for a couple of months and now returned to civilization.... But the good news is that since I'll just be working this summer I'll be able to do fun stuff in SF for once.
I'm back in La for about a week and then back to SF. Still have a bunch of planning to do for next year. I think I took on a couple too many leadership positions... and next year the ASP conference will be held in SF. Which means major planning on our part. But still... I'm excited about next year... I can't believe I finished my first year at pharm school already! Time goes by so fast.. and as I look back, the accomplishment that I feel after my one year at UCSF is equivalent to my feeling after graduating after 4 years in Irvine. There were truly times where I thought I wasn't gonna make it. Highlights of the quarter include:
- Moving to my new place on 9th. I'm really glad I held out and found this place. I love my room! It's huge and I have my own bathroom for only 775$!! I really like my roomates and I have cable... ooooo..
-playing with cadavers, which turned out to be pretty fun. I got to see my first sliced penis.. hehe And fat in a cadaver is the most disgusting thing in the world!
-After the immunization elective and practicing giving my friend shots I discovered that I liked it!! And I learned how to draw blood.. Imagine that Ana taking people's blood.. hahah and now I'm project coodinator for Project immunization next year. So the other 4 coordinators and I will be in charge of setting up Flu vaccines for health fairs and other immunizations.
-I learned through my classes that UCI didn't teach me very much... Or maybe I didn't retain anything I learned. I had to learn O chem all over again... But it's okie I think it's better that I did.
Okie well I'm going to go enjoy life now

| Mann.. haven't written in sooo long. This quarter has been really rough... Pledged for Phi Delta Chi, school and finally moved out of my expensive apart.. At times I really thought I wasn't gonna make it... O chem was kicking me in the ass.. and five other classes wasn't helping either. I think there was about 5 weeks where I only got 5 hours sleep a nite.. haven't worked out in ages and haven't eatten good food in a while either. I'm sure glad I survived tho. I believe it when they say they ease you into tho. Last quarter wasn't really pharm school THIS is.. But yea some updates for what's been going on in my life:
- moved to 9th Av, really nice people a 3rd year med and a teacher. Got my own huge room and bathroom for only 775$!!! It's clean, newish and parking is great too
- got a job @ kaiser, gonna start working next quarter. Had to go get my physical and blood drawn during finals week... that was bad...I'm a little scared, I hear they do 2000 Rx's/ day and it's not the safest area ( Oakland)
- For school this quarter I got to stab myself in the stomach with an injection of saline ( that was suppose to be for glucose). Diabetes stuff is really fun. And next quarter we get to play w/ cadavers...
- getting used to the city more now. I almost never get lost and found some nice places to eat and hang out. I'm learning how to tell the difference b/w a gurl and a guy in SF castro district. ( It's kinda hard @ times!)
- back in the La area for about a week now. Plane got delayed yesterday for like 2 hours.. But yea if anyone else wants to do anything let me know. Also I got my phone jacked so I don't have a lot of my #'s. So sorry if I dun get to call you. Anyhow I hope everyone else is doing good =)
